Silent Movie Under the Stars 2024

Wharton Studio Museum invites you to our 14th annual Silent Movie Under the Stars event on Saturday, August 24 at 8 PM. We’re screening “The Mark of Zorro” (1920) at Upper Robert Treman State Park!

Those of you who attended our first outdoor screening with live music in 2011 will remember Upper Robert Treman. The screening is just a short walk from the Old Mill. Use the upper entrance parking lot for this event. If you’re driving from Ithaca, take 13 South and make a right on 327.  Follow 327 for three miles and then make a left into the entrance to Upper Treman. There will be some helpful signage along the way to guide you!

There’s a voluntary minimum parking fee of $5 that supports the screening and Wharton Studio Museum. Please consider a $5 (or more!) cash or check (made payable to Wharton Studio Museum) donation! It would be greatly appreciated.

Join us August 24 for this popular cinematic end-of-summer event with live musical accompaniment by Cloud Chamber Orchestra with special guest Damian Dodge!

This event is FREE and open to the public! Bring your blankets, picnics, and lawn chairs to this family-friendly event of the summer. The film begins at sundown. The rain date is Sunday, August 25. Please check our Facebook & Instagram accounts (@whartonstudiomuseum) for any updates.

Thank you to our Presenting Sponsor — M&T Bank for their ongoing generous support.

2024 marks the 100th anniversary of New York State Parks! The NYS Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation is Silent Movie Under the Stars’ producing partner and we are so grateful for this longstanding collaboration.
