Famed session guitarist, Marc Ribot, performs a live, solo guitar score to Charlie Chaplin’s silent film classic, “The Kid” at the Little Theatre in Rochester, on Thursday, August 22 at 7:30 PM. Ribot has recorded and performed with many greats of jazz, rock and blues over his career, including Tom Waits, Wilson Pickett, McCoy Tyner, and Elvis Costello. 

"Commissioned and premiered in January 2010 by the NY Guitar Festival at Merkin Hall, Marc Ribot’s delicate and at times haunting solo guitar score contemporizes this classic Chaplin film to a story relevant to the economic and social conditions following the housing market crash of 2008 (which occurred shortly before the commissioning of this work)."
